Project Overview
Following the devastating 2005 earthquake, FEEDER participated in emergency relief and humanitarian assistance activities in District Mansehra through a joint venture with Service Shoes Lahore Ltd.
The project provided food and non-food assistance, medical support and temporary relief services to earthquake-affected communities.
About the Project
The earthquake created urgent humanitarian needs among affected families, including the need for shelter-related materials, household items, food, medical support and other essential assistance.
FEEDER contributed to the emergency response by supporting affected communities and participating in relief activities for an extended period.
Project Objectives
The emergency response aimed to:
- Provide immediate humanitarian assistance.
- Support earthquake-affected families with essential supplies.
- Provide food and non-food items.
- Support medical needs through a Free Medical Camp.
- Assist displaced and affected families through relief activities.
Key Activities and Assistance
Food and non-food assistance was distributed among 714 earthquake-affected families.
The relief response included:
- 1,200 CGI sheets.
- 700 quilts.
- 500 cooking stoves.
- 500 pressure stoves.
- 500 sun-protection sheets.
- 1,000 blankets.
- 1,000 plastic sheets.
A Free Medical Camp was also organized in UC Tanda.
Relief Camp Support
A relief camp was established for earthquake-affected families in UC Tanda and continued for approximately six months.
FEEDER provided voluntary services during this emergency relief period as part of its humanitarian response.
Project Impact
The relief activities provided immediate support to hundreds of families affected by the 2005 earthquake.
Through the distribution of essential supplies, medical support and extended voluntary services, FEEDER contributed to humanitarian assistance and community recovery during a major emergency.
